Pink Eyeshadow and Aqua Blue Eyeliner

Hastings, UK
PINK EYESHADOW! Even as a makeup artist I do get stuck in a rut when it comes to my "go to" make up routine. I actually spend a lot of my day to day life not wearing bold makeup as I'm usually working, at university (early morning starts so no time for makeup) or at the gym. Because of this the time I have to experiment with makeup does become quite rare but it's definitely something I am now putting into my weekly routine, just to set aside some time to recreate and create makeup looks.

With this new hair platinum hair colour I have I feel like it is very easy for me to experiment with different colours and tones because where it is such a neutral colour, not too warm and not too cool, any eye makeup look will not clash. Result!

One Year Closer To Achieving My Degree

For all of you that know, I am currently studying Hair and Make-up for Media and Theatre at degree level. This is something I have chosen to speak about across my business social media platforms as I thought you might have found it interesting! I had wished to keep a bit more of a diary for informative purposes to others who may want to study this path and for memories keep sake for myself but I think I definitely underestimated the amount of written work load I was going to have this year and so that left me little time/ desire to write even more in blog posts. As a little reflection of this years study I'd like to share with you some of the images of my work throughout the year.

What's better? MAC or Makeup Geek Eyeshadows Comparison

As a makeup artist quality eyeshadows are very important. Having everything of high quality is important really but with eyeshadows, you can waste your time with rubbish ones. The time it takes to build up colour, the amount of fall out around the eye and in the pan are definite signs of whether it's a good eyeshadow or not. When I first started as a makeup artist if you asked anyone what eyeshadows you should get for your kit it was always MAC pan eyeshadows which you can form into a custom palette. Question is... would I still choose them now over their competitors such as Makeup Geek?

Why I Don't Like Or Do "Instagram Makeup"

Makeup over the last couple of years has really blown up on the internet thanks to platforms such as Instagram and Youtube. This has allowed a lot of artists and hobbyists to share makeup looks and tutorials for people to watch and has a massive influence on what we as individuals think is in trend or not. As a trained, qualified and working make-up artist I am here to explain why I do not like "Instagram make-up".

Why I Am Studying Make-up AGAIN?

Since this September I have started University to study make-up, my course is an Fda in Make-up and Hair for Media and Theatre which is a 2 year course and I then can apply for a third year to get my full degree. The reason I have decided to go back into education is because I would like to have the highest qualification you can get as a make-up artist for two reasons. One being just pride for myself and a feeling of achievement and the second is I would really like to go into lecturing/teaching so I will probably be doing my teaching top up degree either straight afterwards or I'll have a gap year.

Bridal Trials - What Happens In A Bridal Trial

East Sussex, UK
Hello Brides to be! After getting a lot of questions and confusion about what a bridal trial really is, I have decided to write it down here in a post for you all to read as a lengthy Facebook message can be a bit over whelming. If you are getting married yourself and are thinking of hiring me as your make-up artist then this is the trial procedure!

Balmain Hair Extensions - What's Happening

If you have been following my page over the last few months you will know that just before I completed my Level 3 hairdressing I also completed a course through Balmain on cold method hair extensions. At the time I wrote a little 'watch this space' post about starting to offer this service to all of you so I am just going to start by explaining the situation with that.
